Eligibility criteria - First Year admission to Four-Year degree course

Eligibility Criteria for Maharashtra State Candidate and Outside Maharashtra State (OMS ) Candidate for admission to the First Year Degree course of Engineering:
A candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics and any one from Chemistry or Biology or Bio-technology or Technical Vocational.

                                                                 AND

Secured minimum 50% marks i.e. not less than 150 marks out of 300 marks (45% marks i.e. not less than 135 marks out of 300 marks for backward class category candidates and Physically Handicapped from Maharashtra) in the Subjects Physics, Mathematics and any one from Chemistry or Biology or Bio-technology or Technical Vocational added together at HSC (Std. XIIth).

                                                               AND

Obtained Non Zero marks in “Common Entrance Test” MHT-CET-2016  for all Health Sciences, Engineering and Pharmacy degree courses  for the academic year 2016-17 conducted by Government of Maharashtra.
Diploma/B.Sc. passed out students with 50% marks (45% for any category and disabled candidates)  aspiring to take admission to BE First year are mandatory to appear for “Common Entrance Test” MHT-CET-2016  for all Health Sciences, Engineering and Pharmacy degree courses  for the academic year 2016-17 conducted by Government of Maharashtra and should have secured non zero score.

Additional eligibility criteria for different category seats is as follows
:

  • Centralized Admission Procedure (CAP) seats (70% of Total Engineering Seats):

 In order to be eligible for Centralized Admission Procedure (CAP) seats candidates are require to appear for Common Entrance Test” MHT-CET-2016 and secured nonzero score.

  • Institute Level – Management Quota seats (20% of Total Engineering Seats):

In order to be eligible for Institute Level – Management Quota seats candidates are require to appear for Engineering Entrance Test i.e., MHT-CET- 2016 or JEE (Main) - 2016 and secure nonzero scores.

  • Institute Level - Minority Quota seats (10% of Total Engineering Seats):

In order to be eligible for Institute Level – Minority Quota seats candidates are require appearing for Engineering Entrance Test i.e., MHT-CET- 2016 or JEE (Main) – 2016 and secure nonzero scores.
Should be from Hindi linguistic minority community in Maharashtra.

Admission Process - First Year admission to Four-Year degree course

Intake capacity at ITM College of Engineering, Nagpur is divided into three categories as follows:

1. Centralized Admission Process (CAP) by Government of Maharashtra (DTE)
2. Institute Level - Management Quota
3. Institute Level - Minority Quota


All admissions to ITM College of Engineering are as per the rules and regulations prescribed by the Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Maharashtra.

CAP Seats: 
Students seeking admissions through CAP should have been allotted seat by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai for admission to the First Year of Engineering Degree Course in “ITM College of Engineering, Nagpur” for the academic year 2016-17. Students should follow the Admission Procedure as mentioned below:
1) Purchase Admission Form by paying cost of Rs.300/- in cash (Venue: ITM College of Engineering, Admission Counseling Center). 
2) Fill the Admission Form completely & submit to the Institutions
3) Verification of the form by the Competent Authority in the student Section.
4) Submission of original documents along with three attested Photocopies of the following documents:

5) Tuition Fees: The fees structure of the college will be as per the approval by the Shikshan Shulka Samiti, Maharashtra state.6) Mode of payment: By Demand Draft in the name of “ITM College of Engineering, Nagpur”
7) Reporting of admission to D.T.E.: Candidate is required to provide his/her Application ID and   password generated by students at the time of filling the Government online application form.
8) Collect the fee challan (student’s copy) after online reporting of admission to D.T.E.

Important Note: 

  • The Backward Class candidate admitted against Reserve Category must fill & submit the Government Freeship /Scholarship form within 8 (eight) days from the date of admission.

Institute level Seats (Management & Minority Quota):
 Management Quota:

The students who fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria are eligible for admission under management quota. However they have to make an application directly to the institute. Admissions will be as per merit.

Minority Quota: 
Wardhaman Bahuuddeshiya Sanstha (WBS) is a linguistic minority (Hindi) institute. Students seeking admission through minority quota should be from linguistic minority (Hindi) group. However they have to make an application directly to the institute. Admissions will be as per merit.

Schedule of Admission Process for Institutional level seats
1) Issue of Admission Kit comprising Application Form & Brochure   - Yet to issue
2) Last Date for Submission of Application forms for Institute Level Seats – Shall be issued later
3) Display of first provisional merit list – Shall be issued later
4) Counseling & Spot admissions against vacancies if any – Shall be issued later

Admission procedure is as mentioned from points 1 to 6 for CAP seats above Note:
1) The provisional Admission will be offered only after submission of all required original documents.
2) Merit list based on MHT-CET- 2016 score shall be displayed on college website.

Fee Structure - First Year Admission to Four-Year degree course

The fees structure of the college will be as per the approval by the Shikshan Shulk Samiti (SSS), Maharashtra State. Any increase on that part will be binding on the students in view of the circular of SSS*.

Eligibility criteria - Second Year Admission to Four-Year degree course

Candidate should be Indian National and should have passed Diploma course in Engineering / Technology with 50% for Open and 45% for any category in English medium, awarded by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE) or autonomous institution to which autonomy has been granted by the State of Maharashtra or Diploma recognized as equivalent to the diploma awarded by MSBTE for seeking direct admission to degree as prescribed by the directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra.

Passed B. Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed XII standard with mathematics as a subject.
Note: B.Sc. Degree students should clear the subjects of Engineering Graphics / Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year engineering program with the second year subjects.

Admission Process - Direct Second year through lateral entry

Intake of students at ITM College of Engineering, Nagpur for direct second year admission is divided into two categories as follows:

1. Students admitted through Centralized Admission Process (CAP) of Government of Maharashtra
2. Students admitted through Minority quota at Institute Level

CAP Seats: 
Students seeking admissions through CAP should have been allotted seat by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai for admission to the Direct Second Year of Engineering Degree Course in “ITM College of Engineering, Nagpur” for the academic year 2016-17. These students should follow the Admission Protocol as mentioned above for the first year admission.

Institute Level Minority Seats:
Applications are invited for admission to Direct Second Year in Engineering in prescribed form from the eligible candidates for Minority Quota seats to be filled at Institute Level for academic year 2016 -17. Admission Kit inclusive of Application Form and Prospectus is available for Rs. 300/- at Admission Counseling Centers at ITM College of Engineering, Nagpur, City Office, Nagpur and Navi Mumbai. Last date of submission of duly filled Admission Application Form along with attested copies of all required documents & Demand Draft/ Receipt issued at admission counseling centre of Rs. 300/- is ten days from the declaration of final year Diploma result up to 4.00 pm. Other schedule and admission protocol is similar to first year admission for institute level seats. 

Fee Structure - Second Year Admission to Four-Year degree course

The fees structure of the college will be as per the approval by the Shikshan Shulk Samiti. Any increase on that part will be binding on the students as per the rules of Shikshan Shulk Samiti.
